The Chinto Karate Group in Great Yarmouth is celebrating a medal haul at a regional championships.

Group members competed at the AMA northern karate championships at Bury on Sunday.

Elizabeth Smith won silver in kumite, Edoua Edoua in an amazing quick win won gold in kumite and Daisy-may Johnson, Elizabeth Smith and Lily Steward got bronze in the girls team kumite.

Amanda Johnson, from the group, said: 'Great improvement from Daisy in her kata. Good, solid, confident fighting from them all.'

Last month the Chinto Karate Group had a stall and gave demonstrations on the Shrublands field raising funds for the group's AMA England squad members. It was another successful fundraising event and it saw borough deputy mayor Malcolm Bird attend and praise the members.

The next fundraiser is on October 15 at the Shrublands field between 11am and 4pm.
