As crowds gathered along Gorleston pier on Wednesday evening, RNLI crew from Great Yarmouth and Gorleston along with the Lowestoft lifeboat performed a demonstration on how they save lives out at sea.
The annual demonstration included the Trent Class lifeboat Samarbeta, an Atlantic 75 lifeboat, RNLI Lifeguards and the Lowestoft lifeboat Patsy Knight.

They demonstrated putting out a fire on a fishing trawler, saving a fisherman who had fallen into sea and rescuing a man from his kayak.
The display included lifeguards using paddle boards to rescue swimmers who had got into trouble and also the rescue of some 'drunks' who were messing around on the town's pier and had fallen into the sea.
