Waveney Youth FC has received a £750 donation as part of the Persimmon Homes Anglia Healthy Communities programme.

The club's under 7's team spokesman Neil Bye said: 'Waveney Youth FC is a very successful local club, with teams from under 7s through to under 16s, including girls' teams. Football is a brilliant way to bring children together, helping them to make new friends and be part of their community. We are so grateful for this funding, which will enable us to provide the team with new kit and equipment.'

Every month this year, Persimmon Homes Anglia will hand out £750 to either a sports team or individual aged 21 and under in the area, with the money for kit, equipment, coaching or facilities.

A shortlist of 30 will go to a national final to be decided on a public vote, with the winner receiving £200,000 to create a long-lasting legacy and two runners-up receiving £50,000 each.
