And it is not just any hare supporters want to see gracing a central spot in the seaside town - they are going for the Chrome-Hare!

But to bring the Chrome-Hare to Cromer for 11 weeks over summer, £5,000 needs to be raised for the children's charity Break.

Mel Seton, a Break volunteer community ambassador, has been drumming up support for the idea along with Liz Richards, communications officer from the charity.

Ms Seton said: 'We said right from the beginning it belongs here, so we are doing a fundraiser for it. We are hoping the businesses and the people of Cromer will help us get it here.'

She said there were several spots around Cromer the GoGoHare! could be placed - on the pier, next to the church, or even at North Lodge Park to draw the summer crowds away from the centre of town.

Crome-Hare is one of 18 'Moongazer' sculptures that will be placed around Norfolk, in addition to 50 'ears up' hares bound for Norwich.

The fundraising arts trail, which marks the 50th anniversary of the Norfolk-based charity, follows a GoGoDragons! trail in 2015 and GoGoGorillas! event in 2013. Cromer's Martin Green, Break's fundraising manager, said: 'We have started to get some pledges from Cromer's businesses and if you pledge a donation, no matter how big or small, it will contribute to the £5,000 target needed to reach in order to bring a sculpture to your wonderful town.

'Cromer can be part of Norfolk's largest mass-participation event in the summer.'

MORE: Plans to reveal the next GoGoHare have been postponed due to the heavy snowMr Green added: 'Your generosity towards this project will not only have the potential to boost both the local economy and tourism sector in Cromer but you will also be helping change young lives by supporting the incredible work by local children's charity Break.'
