Cancer patients at a Norfolk hsopital will benefit from a donation from local freemasons.

Members of the Philip Broadfoot Lodge, which is based at the King's Lynn Masonic Centre, have donated £1,000 to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital's Macmillan Cancer Care and Treatment Fund.

They raised this amount during the year of office of the previous lodge master Ian Sutherland via raffles and other events.

Mr Sutherland, who is now the immediate past master, and his wife Angela have presented a cheque to nurse Corrinne Rankin for £600.

A further £400 is on its way to the hospital from the Philip Broadfoot Masonic Relief Chest Scheme.

'We are really pleased with the amount raised and to support such a good cause as the cancer care and treatment fund,' said Mr Sutherland.

Macmillan provides advice, support and tailored treatment to people with cancer via a specialist centre at the QEH.
