The charity single from five Fakenham siblings has gone on live sale today, as the children take on the superstars in a bid for the UK Christmas number one spot.

Ben, 17, Paige, 15, Piper, 15, Hannah, 12, and Eddie, 12, are also known as Unity Band, and have released a music video to promote their track 'Merry Merry Christmas.'

Parents Kevin and Deborah Alexander took the children to Holkham Hall early this week to record the video, thanks to the support of owners Lord and Lady Leicester.

'We've had quite a tough time as a family over the last couple of years,' said Mr Alexander.

'But what astounds me is their passion for music, and their real want to help other people.'

The children's talents range from singing to qualifications in instruments up to Grade 8.

'They just love it,' continued Mr Alexander.

'When we heard about EACH's Nook Appeal they just wanted to do whatever they could to help.'

EACH also has ambassadors such as musician Ed Sheeran and the Duchess of Cambridge.

'They're aware of the song, we're hoping they may get involved if we get into the top 40,' Mr Alexander, 48, added.

Ed Sheeran is currently in pole position to take the Christmas number one.

'We've seen the NHS choir take it off Justin Bieber, it'd be fantastic to see another charity single at number one,' he continued.

Tal Williams, community fundraiser for the EACH Nook appeal, said: 'We really appreciate the efforts of Ben, Paige, Piper, Hannah and Eddie in creating this lovely Christmas song.

'All money we receive from sales will go to the Nook appeal, our £10 million campaign to build a new hospice for children with life-threatening conditions and their families across Norfolk.'

The final day the song can be bought to get the track to number one is next Thursday, December 21, to be announced the following day.
