Downham Market police were contacted to Southery Road to reports of a dog running in and out of traffic on Friday, April 14.

Police said Graham was found to be incredibly hungry, dirty and his skin in poor condition.

Graham was not microchipped and spent a week with a dog warden before being sent to West Norfolk RSPCA to be assessed and rehomed.

The news comes after dog-owners became legally obliged to have their pets microchipped on April 6, 2016, but an RSPCA spokesman feared people were not following the law due to the likelihood of getting caught being low.
