A large banner has appeared above a busy section of the A47 bemoaning Great Yarmouth's traffic woes.
The wide professionally-made hoarding was strapped to the side of a footbridge over the former A12 near the Gapton Hall roundabout.
The banner reads: 'Fed up with Gapton Hall traffic? Improve Gapton Hall roundabout. Stop the misery. What are GYBC and NCC doing about it?'
The poster points to Great Yarmouth Borough Council and Norfolk County Council for a solution, however spokespeople for both local authorities pointed out that as a major trunk route, the A47 is managed by Highways England, which is controlled by the government.
A spokesman for the borough council said the Government has committed more than £300m for improvements along the A47 over the coming years.
The borough council is supporting plans by Highways England to improve capacity at the busy Gapton and Vauxhall roundabouts, including the option of a new right turn out of ASDA. The council would like to see this work happen as soon as possible.
A spokesman for the county council said: 'We know traffic congestion is an issue in Great Yarmouth, the good news is that a great deal of work is underway to help people get around the town more easily. As well as our bid for funding to central government to create a Third River Crossing in the town, which we hope to hear back on next month, £9m has been allocated to the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership to make road and transport improvements in the town. Two key pieces of work underway are determining priorities for spending £3.3m for congestion improvements and £2.9m for sustainable transport improvements.'
They added that there were two A47 drop-in sessions being held in the borough this week.

Wednesday, 16 August – Great Yarmouth Tesco Extra, Pasteur Rd, Southtown, NR31 0DW, 12 – 7pm;
Thursday, 17 August – Gorleston Morrisons, Black Reach, NR31 6SA, 12 – 7pm.
