A 46-year-old man has been rescued and taken to hospital following an incident in Walberswick earlier today.
Officers from Suffolk Police and six coastguard officers from HM Coastguard Lowestoft and Southwold were called at 12.20am this morning to reports of man who had entered open water in Walberswick and was threatening to harm himself following a domestic dispute.
Within two hours of the initial call being received the man was rescued and brought to land where he was treated by crew members from the East of England Ambulance Service before being taken to hospital for further treatment and assessment.
