A UEA drama student graduating today will soon be appearing on the silver screen alongside actors such as Ralph Fiennes and Liam Neeson.

Matt Milne, 21, has landed roles in Steven Spielberg's new movie War Horse and also Wrath of the Titans – an upcoming Warner Bros fantasy film and sequel to the 2010 film, Clash of the Titans.

He plays Andrew Easton in War Horse – the best friend of central character Albert Narracott, who braves the trenches of the first world war in an effort to find his beloved colt.

Matt went on to land the role of Agathon in Wrath of the Titans starring Sam Worthington, Ralph Fiennes, and Liam Neeson and due for release in 2012.

'It's been an amazing year,' he said.

'I thought that War Horse would be a one-off thing, but to do another big movie so soon after was a great experience.'

About filming War Horse, he said: 'Steven Spielberg was on set directing the action every day!

'He was so welcoming and reassuring. I remember sitting in the trench feeling worried and unsure with the hubbub of a hundred crew dashing around. He sat down beside me and told me about his first experiences in film – making films with his friends using his dad's camera when he was 11.

'He's a lovely man.'

At university, Matt, who is now based in Hereford, was a mainstay of his year and has often performed for the Minotaur Student Theatre Company.

He also played Angel Gabriel in the medieval mystery play Mary's Steps at the university drama studio at the end of last year.

Matt will soon be performing in the play Orpheus and Eurydice in London - a contemporary take on the Ancient Greek myth.

Matt is one of more than 4,100 students taking part in the UEA graduations 2011 this week.
