Youngsters at Sheringham Primary School had a chance to learn about the customs and cultures of far-flung countries ranging from India to Australia, during a fun-packed programme of activities organised as part of an annual multi-cultural week.

The event saw pupils research facts on their chosen country, before joining in arts activities including fabric printing, African drumming and Bollywood dancing.

The school's artist in residence Kate Munro also helped childrencreate a collaborative wall-hanging based on the art of Ghana, where Sheringham Primary has a link with an inner-city school.

The week. which culminated in an exhibition for parents and a talent show, was organised by the school's head of art Becky Robinson.

She said: 'It has been really nice for the children to get immersed in another culture and because north Norfolk is not very diverse, it gives them a chance to experience how people in other parts of the world live.'
