New library facilities have been unveiled at a Lowestoft primary school.
A ribbon was cut to mark a new chapter as a special 're-opening event' was held at Phoenix St Peter Academy last week.
With a number of guests in attendance at the official opening, the new library was unveiled in front of delighted staff and pupils at the academy in Enstone Road.
Kelly Harris, parent governor, said: 'We were able to renovate our new library after the Friends of Phoenix volunteers raised almost £10,000 by holding fundraising events.
'Our children were in desperate need of a fresh space that they could be proud of to encourage them back in to reading.'
At the special opening event, Phoenix St Peter Academy headteacher Nadia Paczuska and deputy headteacher Stephany Hunter were joined by Cathie Paine, deputy director of the REAch2 Academy Trust, the deputy mayor of Lowestoft Peter Knight, Sarah Williams of Lowestoft Library, parent governors, the Friends of Phoenix volunteers and children from the School Council.
