Children at a North Walsham school have been learning how their differences should be celebrated, as they mark National Anti-Bullying Week.
Children at North Walsham Junior school were invited to wear odd socks on November 24, to show they respected and acknowledged that all their classmates were different and individual.
This message has been further celebrated through the creation of a mural painted in the school, as well as a poem written for the event.
Executive headteacher Clare Fletcher said: 'All week the children have been learning the poem off by heart so they can remember the important message at all times.
'In assemblies it was a powerful moment when over 550 children recited the words together in unison by heart.'
The children also enjoyed the opportunity to do something different. Ashton in year three said: 'I loved wearing my odd socks because I've been learning it's ok to be a bit different.'
Grace from year one added: 'We are all the same children, even if we wear clothes that are different. We are all friends here.'
Throughout the school staff had made a point of teaching the children that they all have different talents that are to be celebrated, and in PSHE lessons learnt about the impact of bullying on children.
Year six watched a video made by an ex-pupil, which detailed the reasons why bullying another pupil could have life-changing consequences and how everyone should play their part in spotting the signs.
