Living by the north Norfolk coast the sea is an ever present, but one school has brought it even closer.
Children and staff at Bacton Primary School were joined by parents, governors and friends of the school to celebrate the opening of a newly completed sea sanctuary garden.
It was built thanks to a £2202 grant from the Norfolk Coast Partnership, which promotes the area's unique natural beauty.
David Hopkins, head of school, said: 'It's been a real community project and everyone's hard work has resulted in a truly amazing garden which will provide the children with new and exciting learning opportunities for many years to come.'
Local celebratory Alan Gray cut the ribbon to open the garden, and the children performed a country dance.
They also took part in craft activities and enjoyed refreshments while listening to the Occasional Ceilidh Band.
