Isla was presented the trophy by last year's champion, Daisy Jennings.

The evening was a resounding success, with popcorn sales going directly towards Children In Need, raising £80. The students will also be raising money later on in the month for the charity.

Assistant principal at Ormiston Venture Academy, Ian McInally, said: 'The students gain so much from performing on stage in front of such an adoring audience.

'It was a fantastic evening showcasing the best of Venture in so many ways. I'm truly excited to see what these students will accomplish in the future building on their cultural capital.'
