I'm a film lover, and it's no secret to my friends and family that there is one man who I always refer to when justifying my obsession: Christopher Nolan.

Nolan has made many films that have changed how I and so many others view cinema. The way that he captures all manner of things from emotion to action is nothing short of spectacular.

Take the final scenes from Memento or Inception, or the scene when Cooper sees his children grow up over time in Interstellar, it's these moments that make me feel happy that I get to be a part of this generation of cinema.

For those people who say 'Well who cares about emotion, I want to see things explode!!!' I will point you to the Dark Knight trilogy or the fight scenes from Inception. No matter what type of film goer you are, Christopher Nolan has you covered.

What makes Chis Nolan so astoundingly brilliant is his willingness to take risks.

What director could take the Batman franchise- a franchise whose last film had left audiences boycotting the mere mention of Batman- and make it into one of the best comic book trilogies, taking the first ever Oscar for a comic book movie?

What director could come up with some of the most original pieces of filmmaking to ever hit the big screen? Films like Memento, The Prestige, Inception and Interstellar are so inherently smart and intricate that they can bewilder and shock every one. When watching a Nolan film, you can never fully appreciate how good it really is until you think about it afterwards.

So next time you're wondering what film to watch, check out a Nolan film – you won't be disappointed.
