Motorists are being warned that freezing fog on the A11 around Thetford is causing traffic disruption.

Meanwhile, snow and sub-zero temperatures have continued to cause problems across the Thetford, Brandon, Swaffham and Watton area.

Temperatures are set to reach no higher than minus one degrees celsius as the cold snap continues to blast Norfolk and north Suffolk.

This morning, there have so far been no significant crashes in the area but motorists heading from Swaffham to Norwich should expect severe delays between Dereham and the Honingham roundabout.

People living in the Thetford or Brandon area, planning to travel south and west of the county are being warned that the A14 is closed westbound between J36, A1303 (Nine Mile Hill) and J35, A1303 (Stow Cum Quy), because of a serious multi-vehicle accident.

A diversion is in place via the Solid Black Triangle, down the A11 and A505 to the M11 at J8, and back up the M11 to the A14 at Cambridge. There is congestion on the Newmarket bypass to the Rowley Mile Services junction.

For train passengers travelling from Thetford or Brandon to the west of the country, there is disruption in the Cambridge area as the sub-zero temperatures have affected Greater Anglia trains' electrics.

Thetford-based coach firm Coach Services is running all its services but warned there may be slight delays due to the road conditions.
