The life of a RNLI stalwart has been commemorated with the installation of a defibrillator at Sheringham lifeboat station.
Mike Stone was a long-term friend to the station and crew, many of whom were pall bearers at his funeral a year ago.
Because his life had been saved by the use of a defibrillator while on holiday in Italy some years ago, his widow Joanne was keen to help other heart patients and launched an appeal to buy a similar machine for the seafront station.
Lifeboat crew, friends and colleagues raised more than £2,000 and, at a ceremony held a few days ago, supporters had a chance to see the new defibrillator, which has been fitted near the station door.
Senior helmsman David Hagan praised Mr Stone's generosity, intelligence and sense of humour.
He added: 'Mike was a friend to us all and he was a great supporter of the RNLI. We will miss him'.
