Guests were taken back in time at an old-fashioned cafe as part of a project to help vicars in Papua New Guinea.

The Palm Court Tea Rooms at Jubilee Hall in Starston were opened to the public to give them the chance to sample tea as it would have been served in the tea rooms of the early 20th century.

Organisers St Margaret's Church at Starston served tea and coffee in old fashioned pots, along with cakes on cake stands, dainty sandwiches and cream scones with jams.

The event on Sunday was raising money for the church's Lent project Bilum Bilong Pris, which is raising money to get resources for two vicars in Papua New Guinea and collected more than £200.

The Rev Norman Steer, one of the organisers, said: 'People love it and bring friends and it was a very friendly atmosphere and everybody just enjoyed having a proper afternoon tea.'
