A woman who was handed a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) banning her from having an open container of alcohol in Norwich for three years has been jailed.

Joanne Turner, 32, of no fixed abode, was given the order in August 2015 after she was found to be involved in a number of incidents associated with anti-social behaviour in the city.

The provisions set out in the CBO stated Turner must not consume alcohol or be in the possession of an open or opened container of alcohol in a public place in Norwich as defined by the Outer Ring Road or be found drunk in a public place within the Outer Ring Road.

It also stated she must not enter Norwich as defined by the Inner Ring Road, unless for a pre-arranged appointments.

Turner was seen on two consecutive days breaching this order and was arrested on July 25. She appeared in front of Magistrates on Wednesday and was jailed for 12 weeks.

PCSO Bethany Slaughter, of the Operational Partnership Team, said: 'The purpose of a CBO is to enable us to give support to offenders whilst stopping offences being committed. It also acts as a way for us to provide reassurance to the public that we will deal with persistent law breakers.

'Unfortunately, in this case, Turner continued to breach her CBO and did not engage with the support provided. Hopefully, by spending time some bars, she will get the help which will put her on the right track to no longer offending.'
