The victim has been identified as mother-of-three Laraine Maria Rayner, who lived in Mill Road, Wisbech.
A post mortem carried out by Nat Cary concluded Ms Rayner died from a stab wound to the neck. Her body was discovered by police officers on Sunday.
A statement released by her family said: 'Laraine was a cheerful, happy lady who was always there for other people.
'She would often come out with one line comments that would make people laugh. She will be sadly missed by all the family.'
A 43-year-old man from Wisbech has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in hospital with minor injuries.
