Police say offenders broke into a crane on the Bentinck Dock between Sunday lunchtime and 10pm on Monday.
They used it to destroy another crane on the dockside. Police said they also smashed the headlights and damaged the windscreens of five lorries kept in the yard.
The total cost of the damage is estimated to be more than £29,000. Officers want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anyone with further information concerning this damage.
Anyone with information should call PC Jamie Haslam, at King's Lynn police, on 101.
