Two men have been arrested in relation to metal theft after being pulled over by police officers.

The men were stopped at 12.30am this morning by Forest Heath police after being spotted on the A1065, near to the junction with the B1112 towards Eriswell.

They were driving a 'suspicious vehicle', according to police.

The car was followed for a short time before being pulled over in Station Road, Lakenheath, where checks were carried out.

Inside the boot approximately 10 metres of copper cable was discovered.

A 24-year-old man from Thetford and a 32-year-old man from Brandon were arrested on suspicion of theft and taken to the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre where they are being questioned.
