Police officers pledged to continue high visibility patrols at a Norwich park following complaints about illegal drug activity and anti-social behaviour.

Seven people were stopped by officers on Thursday night in Jenny Lind park, off Vauxhall Street, and three of them were found to be carrying cannabis.

Additional patrols have been put in place at the park after local residents complained about anti-social behaviour concerning drug use near the public toilets.

Two men received a street caution for possession while one was bailed during Thursday's police operation.

Sgt Mark Shepherd, from the Norwich South Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: 'We've already had some positive results, albeit for very small amounts of cannabis, however our increased patrols will continue.

'Illegal drug activity and associated anti-social behaviour can have a detrimental impact on local communities and we will continue to listen to residents' concerns to address these issues.'

Anyone concerned about illegal drug activity can contact their local policing team by calling 101. Alternatively, information can be passed to Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111.
