A police officer suffered a broken finger as he tried to break up a fight and another was assaulted by a drunken woman in King's Lynn last night.
Trouble flared in the town's Norfolk Street, during what one senior officer described as 'a busy shift'.
A male officer suffered a broken finger as he tried to separate two men who were about to start fighting.
No-one has been arrested so far in connection with the assault, but officers will be examining CCTV footage to try to identify the men.
In a separate incident, a female officer was assaulted on Norfolk Street as she tried to arrest a woman for being drunk and disorderly. A woman is currently in custody.
As the evening began, police tweeted pictures of long queues outside a nightspot.
