A 63-year-old man suffered bruising and swelling after he was punched during an unprovoked attack in the city at the weekend.

The attack happened between midnight and 12.30am on West End Street on Sunday morning as the victim walked home from a night out.

As he reached the junction with Adelaide Street he was approached by two men who became aggressive towards him.

The man was then punched in the face by one of the men and knocked to the ground. Both men then walked away towards Old Palace Road.

The main suspect is white, in his late 20s, about 5ft 10, of stocky build with short, dark, curly hair. The other man is white, around 5ft 10, of slight build with ginger hair.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the assault or saw two men fitting the descriptions in the area.
