A pet dog suffered a number of puncture wounds after being attacked by two Staffordshire bull terrier type dogs running loose in North Walsham.
The Jack Russell, which required veterinary treatment for stitches, was being walked by its owner, who was with her husband and two grandchildren at the time.
The drama unfolded in the town's Swaffield Rise on Saturday, April 29, around 4.30pm.
No owner could be seen with the dogs, which have been described as having dark coloured coats with metal chains around their necks.
Police have this week issued an appeal for information.
Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have information concerning the potential owner. Witnesses should contact PC Colin Trowles at North Walsham Police Station on 101.
