A man who punched a woman in Norwich leaving her needing three metal plates in in her fractured jaw has been given a seven-and-a-half-year extended sentence by a judge who said he posed a 'danger' to women.
Malaki Morgan punched model-agency worker Charlotte Steven, 21, to the floor in Adelaide Street in the early hours leaving her unconscious, Norwich Crown Court heard.
Daniel Taylor, prosecuting, said the woman had to be taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital where she underwent surgery and had metal plates inserted.
Mr Taylor said the victim also thought she had lost a tooth but later discovered the gap was caused by the injury to her jaw.
He said that in an impact statement she described how she was still undergoing dental work to correct problems, and had to cut her hours working for a modelling agency because of the injury.
Mr Taylor said she also still suffered numbness to her jaw, which might not ever recover.
Morgan, 30, of Waddington Street, Norwich admitted causing grievous bodily harm to Ms Steven on April 22, this year.
The court heard he had previous convictions for violence against women.
Judge Maureen Bacon imposed the extended sentence, under which he will have to serve a 30-month custodial sentence.
She said: 'You pose a high risk of violence to women.'
John Morgans, for Morgan, said he deserved credit for his guilty plea and said he was full of remorse.
