A 20-year-old man suffered a broken jaw and collar bone after he and a friend were assaulted by two attackers.

The two victims were left with severe injuries after the attack, which took place in King Street, Thetford, at around 2.15am on Saturday night.

The victims were attacked after being approached by two men near Lloyds Bank as they walked through the town centre.

One of the men punched one of the victims, a 21-year-old, in the face and as his friend, 20, tried to intervene, he was also punched in the face which caused him to fall over.

The victims then fled and called the police.

The 20-year-old was taken to hospital where his injuries were identified.

The suspect is described as a white man, around 5ft 11in tall, with shaved hair, wearing a silver/grey puffa jacket and speaking with an eastern European accent.
