A Lowestoft woman who stabbed her partner seven times with a knife during a row in the home they shared has walked free from court.
Annette Carr and Robert Sturley had been drinking at their home in Lowestoft in July last year when an argument started, Ipswich Crown Court heard.
Carr picked up a small kitchen knife and caused seven puncture wounds to Mr Sturley's body but then came to her senses and called an ambulance, said Joe Bird, prosecuting.
'The injuries were much less severe than they might have been,' he said.
Carr, 49, of Marham Road, Lowestoft, admitted causing actual bodily harm and was given a 12 month prison sentence suspended for two years and ordered to do a 25 day rehabilitation requirement. She was also ordered to pay £100 costs and a £140 victim surcharge.
Sentencing her Recorder Rex Bryan said she and Mr Sturley were still together and he hoped there wouldn't be a recurrence of what happened.
Mark Roochove, for Carr, said she had expressed remorse and had been addressing her alcohol problem.
