A jury hearing the trial of a man accused of stabbing to death a Norwich man hase been sent home after retiring to consider its verdict.

Steve Stannard, 37, was found with multiple stab wounds when emergency services arrived at his Bowers Avenue flat, in Mile Cross, which had been used as a base by a London gang for drug dealing, Norwich Crown Court has heard.

Hassiem Baqir, 20, from London, has denied murder but admitted supplying heroin and crack cocaine.

Also charged with assisting an offender is Veron Antonio, 24, from Surrey.

Antonio is also charged with supplying Class A drugs and failing to supply his mobile phone pin.

Judge Anthony Bate summed up to the jury of nine women and three men before sending the jury out just before lunchtime on Friday (May 12).

The jury was sent home at just after 4pm and will resume deliberations at 10am on Wednesday, May 17.
