The jury in the trial of a man accused of raping and attempting to murder a woman in Trowse almost 20 years ago has been sent home for the weekend and will resume its deliberations on Monday.
Peter Carroll, 55, of Barnsbury Avenue, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, denies attempted murder, raping and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm to a woman, then a prostitute, in the White Horse Lane area of Trowse on Saturday, July 20 1996.
The jury at Norwich Crown Court, which was initially sent out yesterday afternoon, was sent home shortly before 3.30pm today and will resume deliberations from 10am on Monday.
The trial continues.
