Jake Killick, 23, marauded around the city centre carrying out sex attacks and robberies in March last year.

Killick had been on trial at Norwich Crown Court having denied six rapes, three robberies, sexual assault and false imprisonment with intent to commit a sexual offence on March 30.

But a jury of seven men and five women today found Killick guilty of the offences in just over seven hours.

The jury found him not guilty ofn an earlier alleged rape but guilty of breaching a restraining order on January 5 last year.

Judge Stephen Holt adjourned sentence until March 16 and ordered reports to see what danger he posed.

He said: 'I have no doubt that the sentence will be a long sentence. You will be in prison for many years. My concern is protecting the members of the public.'

He ordered a psychology report and said it was up to him whether he co-operated.

He praised the officers in the case and thanked the jury for their role in such a difficult and very unpleasant case. The March crime spree unfolded two days after Killick had been interviewed by police over the alleged rape in Thetford on January 5 last year, which happened on the same day he was released from prison.

Killick is from Thetford but was homeless at the time of the spree, which started when he targeted a woman on her way to the train station.

During the trial the victim described how she was grabbed by Killick as she walked along Riverside Road at about 4.35am.

She said she told the man she would like him to go away and tried to remove his arm from her shoulder but he became more aggressive and said: 'You don't touch me, I touch you.'

She said she was touched between the legs by the defendant who later tried to drag her down St Matthews Road.

She said: 'The thought I had was that I'm going to be raped.'

The woman said she 'grabbed hold of a road sign' and started screaming in a bid to end the ordeal.

'It was an absolute last-ditch attempt. I thought something horrible was going to happen at that point so I was desperate to attract anyone whatever way I could so I screamed as loudly as I could.'

Killick's next target was a woman who had been walking through Chapelfield Gardens on her way to work.

He grabbed her and pulled her into an alleyway where he raped her.

She was then forced to go to Ten Bell Court in Norwich where he repeatedly raped her.

The terrified victim was told she would be hurt and murdered if she told anyone.

The incident only came to an end after a resident opened her door and let the woman come into her home.

The police were then called.

But Killick's rampage did not end there.

He headed into the city centre where he sexually assaulted one woman before grabbing a 16-year-old girl in St Stephens Street underpass, although she managed to break free and escape.

Meanwhile Killick then robbed a man of his mobile phone in the Chapelfield Gardens area before snatching a phone from the ear of an unidentified victim at Norwich Bus Station.

CCTV showed Killick being chased by the victim and a woman who had come to his aid but he was off and on his way to stealing cash from another man in London Street.

The victim could be seen fighting back on CCTV but Killick - who is now being looked for by multiple police units - breaks free and heads to the train station where he is finally arrested and his spree ended.
