An inquest has opened into the death of Nick Rogers, who died after an assault at Wymondham Morrisons supermarket on July 17.

Norfolk senior coroner Jacqueline Lake said Mr Rogers, who was named in the inquest as Nicholas Patrick Christopher Balber Singh, died on July 18 at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

At the hearing at Norfolk Coroner's Court, Mrs Lake said Mr Rogers was unemployed and lived at Fritillary Drive in Wymondham.

'Mr Singh was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and he died on July 18.'

Mrs Lake said a post mortem examination was carried out by forensic pathologist, Dr Benjamin Swift, but a medical cause of death was not yet available.

A pre-inquest review will take place on October 24.
