'We've arrested two men, one on suspicion of intent to supply, and one on suspicion of possession.'

He added: 'It's all part of our response to Operation Gravity.'

This newspaper has reported how police have been carrying out a series of raids in and around Dereham.

For the last year and a half, Norfolk police have been cracking down on drug dealing in the region, following arrests made in Norwich, Great Yarmouth, Kings Lynn, and London.

Operation Gravity has seen police carry out more than 100 arrests on suspected dealers in Norfolk. It is part of a drive to rid the county of cocaine and heroin, often brought into the region by dealers from London.

Teenagers involved are often hooked on drugs, run up debts with gangs, and are coerced into selling Class A substances on the streets of Norfolk.

Operation Gravity

The operation was launched to in response to a series of high-profile arrests and stabbings which were associated with London drug gangs operating in the county.

Operation Gravity was launched in December 2016 with the aim of tackling drug related crime on the streets of Norfolk.

Norfolk police say that they 'target the most serious offenders involved in dealing and transporting Class A drugs into and around Norfolk, as well as working with partners to protect those most vulnerable to drug abuse and exploitation'.

Officers have targeted specific areas and known locations used by these drugs gangs.

The force is aiming to stem the violence associated with these crimes, and reduce the impact on communities.

Since the start of the operation, 35 people under the age of 18 have been arrested in Norfolk. The charity, the NSPCC, have said that under-18s involved in drug dealing should be treated as victims.
