PARACHUTE and distress flares were stolen after thieves broke into a boat moored at Southwold.
Someone broke into the boat moored at Ferry Road, on the Walberswick side of the River Blyth, between Saturday, December 1 and Tuesday this week (January 1) and then got into an emergency box where the flares were kept.
A number of white parachute flares, orange flares and six red parachute flares were taken. A police spokesman said: 'It's possible at least two of these were discharged in the Ferry Road area last Friday, December 28 and we are asking anyone with information about who took them to call the Southwold and Halesworth Safer Neighbourhood Team on 101.'
