A woman has admitted one count of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after a stabbing in a Norwich flat.

Danielle Shepherd, 32, of Watson Grove, pleaded guilty to the charge at Norwich Crown Court today (Thursday, July 20) following the incident on June 21.

Police, including armed officers, were called to a flat in Watson Grove after reports a man had been stabbed with a knife.

The victim, a man in his 50s, suffered a serious, but not life threatening, chest injury.

He was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for treatment and was later discharged.

Shepherd previously appeared at Norwich Magistrates Court via video link from Wymondham Police Investigation Centre (PIC) on June 22, where she spoke only to confirm her details. She was then remanded in custody until today's hearing.

She was initially also charged with assaulting two police officers, but no further action will be taken with regards to these charges.

Shepherd is due to be sentenced at crown court on August 24.
