Police say it happened in Staithe Street, where a man pushed his way through a group of people and then became verbally abusive.
The incident happened at approximately 6pm on Friday, August 5.
The suspect is described as being white, over 6 feet tall of a muscular build and approximately 25-30 years old. He was wearing a dark vest top, cream coloured knee-length socks and a blue baseball cap.
