Some of the highlights of contemporary art in the county are on display in a new exhibition in Norwich.
Paintings, sculpture, mixed media, prints and drawings all feature in the Norfolk Contemporary Art 2014 (NCA14) exhibition at The Forum which includes about 50 works by members of Norfolk Contemporary Art Society.
More than 250 people attended the gala opening on Monday where Norwich artist Keith Fox was presented with the £500 Adnams Prize for best artwork.
His work in the show includes a portrait entitled Woman with Red Hair, and a painting of a moment in Norwich life called Morning Tea, Red and Green.
Keith Roberts, the curator from Norfolk Contemporary Art Society, paid tribute to the wide range of talented artists across Norfolk who submitted their work for the exhibition.
He added: 'The Forum is a wonderful, friendly place to showcase the very best of Norfolk's contemporary art. Hundreds of people come here to browse and natter in a way they would probably never do in a commercial gallery. We are already looking forward to the next one in 2016!'
NCA14 is the fourth in a series of biennial exhibitions organised jointly by the Norfolk Contemporary Art Society and The Forum.
The final line-up for the exhibition was picked from a pool of more than 300 works that had been submitted for the show.
The selection panel was chaired by Mr Roberts and included: Carl Rowe, Norwich University of the Arts BA and MA fine art course leader; Sarah Bartholomew, Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts assistant curator; and Norfolk-based artist Frances Kearney.
The Norfolk Contemporary Art Society is a charitable association which was founded in 1956 and has about 550 members.
• Norfolk Contemporary Art 2014 runs until Saturday, March 15 at the Forum in Norwich. The exhibition is open daily from 7am until midnight. Artwork can be bought between 10am and 6pm.
