Around 600 guests enjoyed performances from the EDP Festival Choir, the Broadland Youth Choir, and the Cawston Band.

Carols were accompanied by organist Matthew Bond, playing classic festive songs from Silent Night to O Come All Ye Faithful.

Readings were given by guests such as The Lord Mayor of Norwich, Marion Maxwell, and Roy Harold, who recently retired as Norfolk's Chief Fire Officer.

The Festival Choir were the first group to perform last night.

The group of more than 40 men and women have been meeting to practise since November, for the sole purpose of performing in the concert.

The group, which has been performing for 20 years, performed an arrangement of Away in Manger, New Year, and Joy to the World. Carole Tims, musical director of the group, said: 'This year we welcome new members, and look forward to continuing into the next decade.'

The Broadland Youth Choir were next to take the stage.

The twenty-strong band of youngsters wowed the audience with their renditions of A Christmas Alphabet, I sing of a Maiden, and Angels Carol.

From there, the Cawston Band ramped up the festive mood with their medley of Christmas tunes, before EDP Editor Nigel Pickover, thanked performers and audiences for attending.
