Hundreds of rowers - some from as far afield as Worcestershire - took part in an annual Norwich river race which had its entry swelled by flooding in other parts of the country.
Norwich Rowing Club welcomed more than 20 visiting clubs from across the country to its annual Head of the River Race on Saturday which saw competitors take part in four races between Surlingham and Whitlingham Lane.
Flooding over the last few months has left many UK rivers too dangerous to row on and led to high-profile races being cancelled.
So when Norwich Rowing Club extended an invitation for others to take part in the race on the River Yare, their offer was snapped up by teams ensuring a bumper field for the event with about 180 different crews and around 550 athletes.
Nick Francis, chairman of Norwich Rowing Club, said: 'We were thrilled with that and it was a delight to see so many people coming to enjoy the waters of the Yare.'
