The pantomime twist on the classic J.M.Barrie tale about the boy who never grew up will be entertaining audiences throughout the festive season, and today the cast and crew were busy with their final dress rehearsal.

Richard Gauntlett, who has written and directed the show and plays the pirate Smee, said: 'There is plenty of pantomime magic, some monsters, a bit of gunge and lots of laughs. Peter Pan also has such a gripping and exciting plot.'

He added: 'Technically, I would say it is probably the busiest panto we have ever done. There is an awful lot happening backstage to bring the show to life. The audience are going to enjoy a really fantastic performance.'

Kevin Kennedy, who played Curly Watts in Coronation Street, is playing Captain Hook, while CBeebies presenter Sid Sloane plays Aunt Delilah, and Cromer Pier favourite Ben Langley plays the pirate Starkey. Peter Pan runs until January 18. Visit www.theatreroyalnorwich.co.uk
