Refugees will benefit from £1,250 raised in Attleborough as part of Christian Aid Week.

The Attleborough Christian Aid Committee raised the money through a street collection outside the town's Sainsbury's supermarket, a 'Big Brekkie' event at the Methodist church, a coffee morning at St Mary's Church and a house-to-house collection undertaken by a small group of volunteers.

Enid Andrew, from the committee, said the focus of this year's Christian Aid Week was on helping refugees.

She said: 'If we do nothing, nothing happens.

'Attleborough, you raised £1,250.26 in one week in May to make the world a better place.

'The Attleborough Christian Aid Committee offer our heartfelt thanks to everybody who contributed, who offered their time and energy and who publicised the events.'
