Cromer Carnival continues today with one of the highlights over the next few days set to be an aerobatic display team.

Wildcat Aerobatics, based in Norfolk, is one of the most exciting acts on the airshow scene, displaying close formation aerobatics and precision synchronised flying.

The team, who fly a pair of iconic Pitts Special biplanes, will appear in the arena on Tuesday, August 15 at 12.30pm.

Pilots Al Coutts and Willie Cruickshank, who formed the team in 2010 out of a mutual love of aerobatics, have developed an exciting choreographed air show act that combines a graceful mix of balletic, close formation aerobatics and high-speed opposition passes where their closing speed is in excess of 400mph.

In 2016, Wildcat Aerobatics' display at the carnival was unable to go ahead after a mix-up with the display permission paperwork, between the carnival and the Civil Aviation Authority.

This year the paperwork has been completed by Wildcat Aerobatics.

Mr Coutts, who has been flying since the age of 19, said: 'We're really looking forward to returning to Cromer. It's great to display on the north Norfolk coast in front of so many friends and family members.'

Cromer Carnval started on Saturday, August 12, and a number oi events thrilled crowds over the weeklend.

Phoebe Chambers, 18, was crowned as Miss Cromer on the peir forecort, where she was joined by Senior Attendant Victoria Craske, Junior Attendants Summer Rivett and Paige Lewis, and the Carnival Prince and Princess, Connor Reynolds and Isla Harwood.

The carnival, which ends on Friday, August 18, is run by volunteers, and a packed programme of events has been lined up.

The Red Arrows return on Carnival Day itself – Wednesday, August 16 – at 11am, and the Grand Carnival Parade will leave the Carnival Field on Runton Road that evening at 7pm.

Thursday will end with an illuminated parade and fireworks display, leaving Meadow Road at 8.30pm. However, events are planned throughout the day and around the town all week.
