Plans for a new home on a derelict site have been withdrawn after the Environment Agency said a fuller flood risk assessment was needed.

Applicants named in council papers as Smith and Basir applied for outline permission for a new three-bed property off Pullover Road at Tilney All Saints, on the outskirts of King's Lynn.

A planning statement said: "The application site is prime ‘infill development’ due to the surrounding dwellings along the road and at present is un-used land.

"Our proposal seeks to take this infill piece of land for the construction of a single dwelling, completing the street scene and does so in a manner which doesn’t look out of place."

The statement added in its current state, the site next to Ebeneezer Cottages "is not pleasant to the eye" but would be improved by the proposals.

But the Environment Agency said a flood risk assessment "fails to demonstrate that the proposed development will be safe for its lifetime".

West Norfolk Council's planning portal says the plans have been withdrawn.
