One Norfolk lifeboat station had a busy evening after being called out to two incidents within two hours.

The first call came into RNLI Happisburgh at 8pm on Sunday after reports of a paraglider crashing into the sea off Bacton.

'Russell Pickering', the station's D Class lifeboat, was quickly launched and they began the search which lasted more than an hour.

After sailing along the coast the crews were stood down by HM Coastguard after they ensured everyone was safe.

When they returned to the station, the lifeboat crew received a new call to reports of someone swept out at sea near Walcott Beach.

Collaborating with the Bacton Coastguard the person was removed from the water with the RNLI crews standing by.

The crew subsequently stood down and returned to the station to clean and refuel the boat ready for the next call, leaving the station around 10.30pm.

Pete Walker, the Helm said: ‘It was great to put our training to good use; I was very pleased with the way my crew worked as one unit to get the jobs done."
