A hit city yoga studio will be moving to a new home this summer amid a big business shake-up.

Tess Bickerstaff, 53, opened Norwich Yoga Central at its current home in Orford Place in August 2021.

The spacious retreat spans two studios and two treatment rooms with a range of classes and experiences on offer, from beginners' yoga to drama skills for confidence, to a women's motorbike day.

Tess, from Mattishall, had suffered from crippling anxiety and depression for many years before she discovered yoga.

"I know that it is a cliche, but that first class was a life-changing experience for me.

"Yoga was my saviour. I know how powerful it is and I'd like to give back."

After Tess suffered a relationship break-up in 2019, she found herself at a crossroads in which she could invest in a property to live in or launch a yoga business.

Norwich Yoga Central was launched shortly after.

Now, nearly three years on, Tess has announced a big change for the business.

"We will be moving to a more appropriate setting at the start of July," said Tess.

"We are going to open the only downstairs studio in the city.

"It will be a slightly smaller space than we have now but I will be able to host a lot more events, including chair yoga and classes for older women."

The business will be moving into the ground floor of 17 Ber Street, the former home of ETT Marcomms and between John Lewis and Ciscoe's, on July 1.

"It's not just yoga here - we are a community of support," said Tess.

"Norwich Yoga Central is a happy place, full of love and support for anyone of any age."

Tess will be hosting a launch party on June 28 from 4pm, with discounts available on summer workshops - including a beach superflow vinyasa - and classes.
