Plans have been approved for two new homes at the edge of Norfolk's Chelsea-on-Sea despite calls for the scheme to be refused.
A local family faced opposition to their hopes of building the properties on land off Overy Road in Burnham Market after West Norfolk officers recommended it was blocked due to it being "detrimental to the countryside".
Planners argued it was outside the development boundary for the village and therefore went against local policies for house building however it had gained 81 letters of support from locals.
At a meeting this week, Holly Smith, the landowner, spoke in defence of her family's application.

She said that there had been buildings on the land for more than 50 years and that the two homes will help provide somewhere for their children to live locally in an area that is very expensive - the average house price is in the region of £1m.
Despite recommendations for it to be blocked, councillors were in full support of the plans with several members praising the design of the housing, believing it could improve the appearance of the conservation area.
Councillors voted to approve the scheme when it came to the vote.
