Four people have appeared in court to face robbery, weapons and assault charges following a weekend of violence in King’s Lynn.

A town centre brawl during the early hours of March 3 on Littleport Street left one person with serious injuries that saw him transferred to Addenbrooke's Hospital. A woman was also taken to hospital with injuries.

Five men in their 20s and two women, one in her 20s and one in her 30s, were arrested on suspicion of assault following the incident.

Appearing at Norwich Crown Court, Lewis Mitchell, 21, and Georgia McGregor, 26, both of Dodmans Court, and Nathan Roberts, 23, of Gaywood Road, pleaded not guilty to robbery of a man over a pair of Nike trainers.

Roberts admitted having caused grievous bodily harm with intent but Mitchell and McGregor both denied this charge.

Police said they believe the incident may be linked to others which happened over the same weekend including one in the early hours of March 2 when a man was assaulted and injured with a bladed weapon at Milfleet Court.

Roberts, Mitchell and Ben Mallet, 21, from Wymondham, all pleaded not guilty to robbery over the incident when the victim was said to have been targeted over a quantity of cannabis.

However, Mallett pleaded guilty to wounding with intent to cause GBH and possession of a machete.

Roberts also admitted having a knuckle duster when he was arrested in Matalan car park on March 3.
