A former Methodist church is set to be transformed into housing.

New proposals could see Lingwood Methodist Church, near Blofield, turned into a new home.

The Victorian building in Chapel Road was sold at auction in 2023 for £151,000, after its congregation relocated to the village hall the previous year.

It had originally opened in 1867 to serve a small rural population in the village.

The current building includes an entrance lobby, kitchen with seating area, cloakroom and storeroom, as well as a main hall and inner hall which are lit through large stained-glass windows.

The plans submitted by David Armes would see the church turned into a home with five bedrooms, along with the formation of a new first floor.

The property would include a living room, kitchen, study, and five bathrooms.

Broadland District Council will decide whether to approve the proposals in due course.
